Indigenous Entrepreneurial Business Stewardship

LARR has established itself as a premiere leader of Indigenous Business Solutions in Western Canada by bringing together Canada’s top companies with Indigenous partners to create thriving, dynamic and respectful partnerships. Within these partnerships we safeguard training and apprenticeship opportunities for Indigenous people in petroleum, forestry, mining, construction, and power generation industries.

For Indigenous entrepreneurs and their communities this synergy allows them to reach their economic potential, gives them a say in their resource development and creates long term economic prosperity for the community while respecting cultural, social and environmental issues.

Their success is our success and it is based on our ability to understand Indigenous needs and develop solutions that maximize economic self-sufficiency and build sustainability.

Government and Industry Relation Manuals

We assist in a complete restructure of the community consultation department including a thorough analysis of the current consultation program, training consultation department staff, and production of a comprehensive internal operations manual. In addition to the internal operations manual we develop a government industry relations manual to be submitted to the appropriate government department in representation of the Indigenous community.

Indigenous Community Consultation Restructuring

LARR Management works with Indigenous community consultation departments to improve transparency in the consultation process, provide a clear understanding of the costs of participation, reduce the time required to complete assessments, and ultimately the overall costs of the process. With the goal of producing an accurate and useful assessment of the impacts of any proposed development project, we are able to implement a project based management system.

Consultation with Indigenous Communities

As mandated by the “Action Plan on Aboriginal Consultation and Accommodation” set forth by Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, Industry has a duty to consult with Indigenous communities regarding any projects located on Indigenous traditional territories. LARR management will work with your procurement team to facilitate positive relationships with Indigenous communities effected by these projects.

We have negotiated Impact Benefit Agreements (IBAs) and Mutual Benefit Agreements (MBAs) on behalf of Chief and Council for First Nations throughout Western Canada. These agreements ensure that Indigenous communities are fairly compensated for projects located on their traditional lands and enables Industry to move ahead with projects occurring on Indigenous traditional territories without deviation from their timelines and budgets. This win/win perspective supports your management team with strategic tools and analysis that will assist sound decision-making.

EMPC

The Principals of LARR Management have managed several successful corporations and have first-hand experience working in Alberta’s energy sector at the executive level, managing large operations with significant scope and budgets. We have the skills and resources required to manage projects of any scope within the Forestry, Aggregate, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors.

Human Resources Management

LARR Management has established relationships with Indigenous communities throughout Alberta, BC and Manitoba. These relationships enable us to access a skilled and non-skilled labour force throughout these areas.

Our process is to work with your organization to modify Indigenous hiring and training policies in order to complete the career training cycle of Indigenous employees. This enables your organization to increase and retain your Indigenous workforce.

Larr Management Corporation is committed to working with Indigenous people to help them reach their goals in building successful businesses and self-sufficient communities.
